°µÍøÁÔÆæ holds 2023 Education and Career Fair
Montreal - Friday, October 27, 2023

Marras

More than 2,000  Secondary V students attended the 23rd  annual °µÍøÁÔÆæ Career Fair on Wednesday, October 25 and Thursday,  October 26 at St. Pius X Career Centre in Ahuntsic (9955 Papineau).  Jack Dym of Pipe and Piling Supplies Ltd is the event’s title sponsor.

From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on October 25, the Education and Career Fair was open to the community-at-large. This was a good opportunity for parents to attend with their children (Grades 9, 10 and 11) as they look towards post-secondary education options in a one-stop shopping experience.

Thierry Joubert

Several on air personalities from the media were on hand to talk to students about careers in this field and serve as guest emcees.  Thierry Joubert, a former school teacher who has gone on to a successful career as a real estate executive and motivational speaker, took part in each information session and conveyed important messages to the students.

Mr. Joubert’s teenage days as a day camp councillor inspired him to become a physical education teacher.

Mr. Joubert’s teenage days as a day camp councillor inspired him to become a physical education teacher. He graduated from the Université du Québec a Montréal and spent 12 years in that field  at the high school while also ensuring that his students looked towards the future and their own personal growth post high school. “I spent most of my time guiding my students to find the balance between passion, talent and adding value to society while reaching the quality of life desired,” he says.

As the founding president of Solutions Succès, a  real estate and property management firm, Mr. Joubert still finds time to inspire students and he looks forward to doing so at the Education and Career Fair.

In-Depth Exposure to Educational Opportunities

Coordonnée par le SEAFP en collaboration avec les Services aux élèves de la CSEM

The Student Services and AEVS Departments of the °µÍøÁÔÆæ coordinate this program.

Mario Argiropoulos from the  °µÍøÁÔÆæ Adult Education and Vocational Services is the  Education and Career Fair chair. The Student Services and AEVS Departments of the °µÍøÁÔÆæ coordinate this program. The main objective is to provide students with an in-depth exposure to the various educational opportunities available to them.  All students took part in a brief general information session in the St. Pius X auditorium. Students then had the chance to visit the various exhibition/information booths staffed by representatives from English vocational centres,  CEGEPS, universities and some private business colleges.
